EcoSpark at Inspiredu

Inspiredu is a Georgia-based non-profit working to bridge the gaps in device ownership, digital literacy, and digital access by providing Georgia’s most marginalized and vulnerable citizens with the devices and training they need to become a part of the global internet community. In previous years we have provided thousands of Georgia families with a free home learning center and the training to use it. Our EcoSpark program is a three-pronged approach to collect donations of laptops and other equipment, refurbish those devices to extend their life cycle, and safely recycle unusable equipment. We rely on donations from companies and individuals to provide the devices we distribute. Keep reading to find out how you can help!

The Recycle to Repurpose portion focuses on refurbishing and extending the lifecycle of devices that have been graciously donated by corporations and individuals.

The Donate2Educate has transformed donated devices into Home Learning Centers and distributes them to local families, community-based organizations and students. In 2024, we served 2,445 families in the state of Georgia. This fundraising campaign ties into our Learning Spark Initiative, providing equitable access to technology and training.

The Sustainability prong includes collaborating and working with the community to get devices through e-drives to collect electronic waste from your neighborhood to keep a clean and sustainable environment. Inspiredu recycled 247,800 pounds of e-waste in 2024 that had reached the end of its life cycle in an environmentally friendly manner, keeping e-waste out of our landfills.
